Elan Valley Visitor Centre

Wordsworth described Mid-Wales as second only to The Lakes in its beauty, Shelley lived in a house now below Caban Coch and Bowles too wrote about the Elan. From Milton's images of Adam and Eve gardening in Eden, to anti-pastoral of Owen's Futility, the landscape has been at the heart of poetry in English. The exhibition couples stunning images of the places that inspired this literary heritage, displayed alongside the poems. The photographs stand alone as outstanding images, but they also give an insight into the poetic mind and the relationship between authorship and place.
